About My Clients

My clients seek a therapist who is anti-racist, body-positive, kink and identity-affirming. I specialize in working with survivors of childhood abuse, folks with complex trauma, and queer & trans folks. Often the work is around self-awareness, life patterns, identity development, stress responses, self-image, trauma release and around trans identity. I am currently FULL. I am still offering primary and secondary assessment and letters for medical transition.

My Background and Approach

I identify as queer, trans, white and as a survivor. I started out in this work over 20 years ago as a client. As an empathic and sensate human who is driven by connection and growth, becoming a therapist was the obvious direction for my life. My purpose is to create opportunities for healing for folks from my own communities. Folks who are often not understood by clinicians who view us from the outside. I hold a BS in Social Science, and a Clinical MSW from University of Southern California. I have been working with trauma, queer and trans identity in other people's lives for over a decade.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My eclectic approach to therapy takes pieces from Attachment Theory, Humanistic and Internal Family Systems. Additionally, I am double-trained in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy and integration work. I lean away from the traditional mental health perspective of “what’s wrong”, and instead my work aligns with “what happened.“ I don’t believe that the cause of most of our struggles is a failure of us, but rather a failure of our systems and environments. Looking at ourselves deeply with another person is contraindicated by most of our conditioning in this culture, and starting therapy can be an anxiety-inducing experience for many. Yet, this work has the power to transform us, to validate us and to shape our lives. The path toward healing and growth is not the easiest-though it is the path toward self-actualization and thriving— and it's the way home.
