About My Clients
Do you feel as if life is just too overwhelming? Do you feel as if shame is swallowing you from the inside out? Have you been feeling emotionally numb or as if you're detached from reality? Have you experienced sexual trauma or abuse? Are you going through a major life change? If so, I would be happy to walk alongside you to help you learn coping skills, gain self-confidence, and develop healthier thought patterns, routines, and insight. Together, we can work toward the change you desire.
My Background and Approach
I approach sessions with my clients from a person-centered perspective. To me, that means taking my clients at their word and letting them tell me about their lives because they are the experts on that, not me. I stive to provide a safe, judgment-free zone for my clients in each session because I firmly believe that that is the best environment for people to grow and change. I graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with my Master's in Counseling and soon after received my LPC Associate license. I have worked in both private practice settings as well as inpatient settings. Additionally, I spent a year of my internship during graduate school working with clients at an art therapy practice local to the Fort Worth area. While I am not an art therapist, I can bring art into sessions if desired. I will also bring in humor and sarcasm when appropriate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and willing to work with a wide range of backgrounds and belief systems; I believe that therapy should be a safe space for everyone. It is extremely important to me that my clients feel seen, heard, and understood while also not feeling as though they are being judged, condemned, or alienated. While I am a Christian, I will never force my beliefs on my clients. Unless a client explicitly asks me to approach therapy with them from a Christian perspective, I will not bring a Christian lens into sessions.
