About My Clients

Life is stressful and does not always go how we planned. For some people, it can be hard to make sense of our past experiences. For others, there may be stressors that seem to never go away, and drain you of energy and joy in life. Still others may question what path they are on, or whether they are worth more. The result of any of these stressors can be anxiety, worry, confusion, doubt, sadness, numbness, or feeling stuck. Finding your way to this page shows that you want more.

My Background and Approach

I have been in the general field of psychology for a while now, first getting a PhD in Social Psychology, and then finding my way to becoming a Mental Health Counselor. As a counselor, college professor, parent, and relationship partner, I have both personally experienced and spoken to countless others about the struggles of everyday life. Life is hard sometimes! I specialize in trauma, family and relationship conflict, attachment dysfunction, current life stressors and life transitions, and emotional disturbances such as depression and anxiety. My approach to therapy is to be integrative; this means that I will use tools that best connect with the problems at hand. I will always be transparent with you in explaining my approach and why I feel it is useful. My first goal is to help you feel comfortable, safe, and secure. Together, we will walk through the hard stuff at a pace that is comfortable for you to meet your goals - even if you are not sure yet what those goals are!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have a long personal and academic history of looking at the impact of power and privilege, based on all forms of personal and social identities. I have long considered the unique experiences that people may go through a part of their identity has been historically devalued or stigmatized. There are identities that I personally hold, and some that I do not; however, no matter what our social differences are, I am interested in YOUR story. I will look to you to help me understand what your identities have meant to you and your own personal narrative.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
