About My Clients
Psychotherapy can also be called, 'talk therapy,' with the ultimate goal towards bringing relief from problematic symptoms that may stem from emotional andor psychological turmoil. I have worked with clients in psychotherapy in a number of ways, but namely creating an open space during a therapeutic session in which an individual can discover new insights into their problem areas in order to create healthy choices for improved relationships.
My Background and Approach
My first and foremost speciality is Complex Trauma (EMDR Certification) & CouplesMarriage Therapy; I have extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman's, and Imago Therapy. I also work a great deal with complex trauma and practice EMDR regularly. Having 2 clinical Master degrees (Psychological Counseling and Social Work), has enabled me to access resources, training, and experiences from nearly 40 years providing direct therapy with my clients. Using eclectic, strengths based approach by creating supportive & collaborative environment promoting personal growth. My approach is about the relationship between therapist & client. Acceptance, understanding, comfort, compassion, authenticity, & genuine respect = building blocks of a therapeutic relationship.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I work in multiple modalities from an individual to families and couples, to large groups of people with many types of issues/problems. Some are dating back in someone's history, whereas, others are merely trying to manage day to day issues a bit better. The span is great in this sense and I work with each individual with their own unique qualities. Within this framework, I work with a myriad of concerns, & those that are complex in nature. Learning new skills, coping and happier life overall. Using eclectic, strengths based approach by creating supportive & collaborative environment promoting personal growth. My approach is about the relationship between therapist & client. Acceptance, understanding, comfort, compassion, authenticity, & genuine respect = building blocks of a therapeutic relationship.
