I approach treatment from a biopsychosocial model - that there are likely biological factors (like physical dependence), psychological factors (like poor coping habits and other mental health concerns), and social factors (either isolation or being surrounded by others who are also using substances) that hold the addictive behavior in place. We'll work together to unravel all these factors and help move you forward.

I trained for three years in Veteran Administration Hospitals, and have been treating clients with concerns related to trauma and PTSD for the past 8 years. I specialize in Cognitive Processing Therapy, a research-backed treatment that resolves symptoms of PTSD in approximately 3-4 months. Please reach out to me and I'll be happy to explain more!

Awareness of the automatic habits of your mind is central to any process of psychological change, and mindfulness-based approaches are the quickest way to build this skill. My approach to mindfulness comes from both professional training, personal study, and a daily mindfulness meditation practice that I have kept for the past four years.

CBT forms the backbone of most evidence-based approaches for treating behavioral health concerns - I've trained in and practiced CBT-based techniques and interventions since the beginning of my doctoral program. Understanding the links between your thoughts, your behaviors, and your feelings gives you the opportunity to break the cycles that have been holding you in place, and move with intention into something new.
