I utilize virtual reality technology to increase the effectiveness of treatment for phobias and other anxiety disorders. Research shows that virtual reality significantly reduces length of treatment and is highly effective for phobias such as fear of flying or fear of public speaking, among many others.
I have specialized training in the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders more generally. I utilize exposure and response prevention, the gold standard in the treatment of OCD. It has been humbling to be a part of my clients' journeys as they break out of crippling patterns and open up possibilities in their lives that before seemed impossible.
1 in 5 women experience postpartum depression, making it the most common complication of pregnancy. From trying to conceive to welcoming a baby or experiencing a loss, I recognize the complexities of these life stages and offer a compassionate space in which to navigate them.
I approach my work through the lens of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, a "third wave, mindfulness-based, cognitive-behavioral therapy". ACT emphasizes values-based, present-focused work to enable individuals to live a vibrant and meaningful life.
I completed a year-long internship at Zucker Hillside Hospital's OCD Center where I honed my exposure skills under the close supervision of experts in the field. I continue to be an active member of the International OCD Foundation. I utilize exposure skills both in the treatment of OCD as well as in the treatment of anxiety more generally.
