About My Clients
Dr. Long worked in a behavioral health psychiatric hospital, and later worked in the outpatient sector. She has experience with coordinating community support services; providing psychosocial rehabilitation, life skills training, and psychoeducation; and advocating for individuals as their liaison. Currently, provides professional counseling services to adolescents and adults. As well as, work with individuals to resolve personal, psychological, behavioral, and social concerns.
My Background and Approach
Dr. Long utilizes a psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approach. She also utilizes: a Mindfulness Meditation approach to anxiety and depression; John Gottman's methods in couples' therapy; and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s Standards of Care when working with transsexual, transgender, and gender nonconforming individuals, as well as with the LGBTQ community.
