I am a queer, HSP, Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Clinical Counsellor in the Sacramento community.
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist in Sacramento, CA
Supervised by Alexandra Garton, LMFT
As a member of the queer community, I know how hard it is to find a therapist that feels like they are a safe space for exploring the complexities that folks under the LGBTQ+ umbrella face. Living in a cis-heteronormative society that's rooted within the dominate culture can create a feeling of otherness that can and does lead to mental health concerns. I have had years of experience working with LGBTQ+ folk and plan to continue dismantle hate, re-create narratives, while exploring our gems.
I self-identify as a HSP, meaning I was told growing up that I was 'too needy,' 'sensitive,' and 'dramatic.' Knowing what I do now has helped reframe my sense of self and identity. Understanding what it means to be a HSP in a society that glorifies 'toughening up,' overworking, and over-productivity can create harm to mental and emotional wellness. It's my hope that working with a therapist who experiences life as a HSP, will create safety to explore the wounds and honor your gifts.
Anxiety shows up as many faces and names. Helping identify what that looks, feels, and sounds like is vital in regaining your power back. Together we can explore your relationship with anxiety in a safe space so that it's not taking control of your life. It is my hope that in working with me, you'll be able to find clarity and continue utilizing tools that will carry with you even after our time comes to an end.
