About My Clients
Aside from the individual challenges faced by my clients, my interest is in addressing systemic issues such as racism, sexism, classism, and more. I believe that many people feel the weight of the world and it's inequities everyday, whether consciously or not. I hope to connect these issues, when relevant, to the unique challenges presented by clients. There is no greater time than now to work to be more intentional in our understanding of and dismantling of oppressive systems.
My Background and Approach
Seeking help can be hard. In an individualistic society like ours, reaching out to others is a scary thought. I recognize the strength and vulnerability it takes to make this step. Welcome. I believe that we all have the strengths and resources inside of us to overcome our challenges. However, it can be hard to access them when we're struggling. My goal as a therapist is to get to know each client and help them to unleash their inner power. By offering a non-judgmental, culturally aware space, I invite clients to tell their stories knowing that they will be heard, understood, and respected.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My philosophy as a therapist is that I am in the passenger seat, helping to navigate while my clients control the wheel. Utilizing a strengths-based, solution focused approach, I will work with you to identify your strengths and positive coping skills as a means of addressing your current challenges. We will collaborate in order to practice new skills and work towards building the life you envision for yourself.
