Within the last several years, cultural and systemic oppression has been coming up more, but it has always been there. It has existed within the U.S. since its birth, and it has existed in history as long as the patriarchy has been in power. More recently, the topic of oppression has been centered on the BIPOC and trans community, who all have significantly suffered during this pandemic.
Part of being human is experiencing grief/loss. In this pandemic, we all experienced it with sheltering in place, social distancing, among deaths from COVID. We can feel grief when we experience a loss of any kind, including the world pre-pandemic to death(s) of loved ones. Grief is a natural yet complicated process; everyone's journey through grief is unique and valid.
Many are still unfamiliar with the term. Highly sensitive people (HSP) are often overstimulated by the world and attuned to their environments. Given their genetic predisposition, it can be quite difficult to navigate the world. Often times, people only see the drawbacks and not the strengths of being a HSP. As a fellow HSP, I understand the struggles of being HSP in this world and love connecting/helping other HSPs.

Humanistic therapy is based on humans being innately good. With proper support, people have the ability to reach their own potential. It helps people become more self-aware and empowered in their journey of being human.
Psychodynamic therapy looks into how the past has impacted our current selves. It helps increase our self-awareness on how/why we became who we are. The past is present.
