I love helping marriages and couples who are in distress, as well as couples who are working to safe guard the relationship before difficulties present.
My Background and Approach
My passion is in treating couples by utilizing my advanced training in an evidenced based model called emotionally focused couples therapy. I have worked with hundreds of couples and am a certified emotionally focused couples therapist. I value working collaboratively with couples to discover their disconnecting patterns in the relationship, understand the underlining meaning to these patterns and practice communicating in new ways to strengthen and secure their bond. Research has shown that 90 percent of couples reported significant improvement in their relationships & 70-75 percent of couples no longer met the criteria for being a couple in distress. Because of the research and my experience treating numerous couples with this therapeutic approach, I believe in the effectiveness of emotionally focused couples therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everything we do has a purpose, and if we create a safe space for our emotions to be heard we can discover why we do what we do. This is foundational in my work with couples to help foster compassion and safety in sessions, understand the behaviors that show up in moments of disconnection with your partner, and from that understanding, begin to practice new ways of communicating that rebuild trust and intimacy.
