You may be in a relationship now or still looking for your partner, but something is just feeling off. You always had this idea of what your “perfect” partner should be like, but it’s just not panning out the way you expected. In all of your relationships; romantic, friendships, and family, you find yourself saying, “I’m there for everyone, why aren’t they there for me?”

This is a loss that others don't understand how to support. They think because a baby was never birthed that the loss isn't significant and life changing. The truth is this loss changed us, we grieve silently, and feel alone. We don't have an outlet and don't know what to do with everything we're feeling. Mama, you're not alone and I am here for you.

I get it. You’re a new mama and suddenly your whole life is about your baby. You’re not sleeping enough, there’s no time to eat, and showering is a treat. You feel lonely, scared, and sad. Even though you’ll never say it out loud, you have moments where you miss your life before you became a mother. Maybe you even feel like you don’t exist anymore, like you’re invisible. Your thoughts are racing and occasionally scary ones creep in. Everything feels foggy and all over the place.

Have you ever noticed people talk about "A part of me felt this way, but another part of me felt that way"? IFS offers a voice to all parts so the entire system can feel heard and validated. With this approach, no part of self needs to be silenced and pushed aside. The whole self can finally have a voice.

Many times we get caught up with focusing on our thoughts and intellect. While there is a place for our logic and reasoning, it only accounts for a part of our system. When we begin to incorporate the way our physical body plays a role in our lives and our needs, the sooner we can begin to feel like ourself and learn to regulate our nervous system.

Trauma is more than just experiencing a physical, sexual, or emotional assault. It is any situation that our brain perceives as a threat which activates our sympathetic nervous system.
