About My Clients

My goal is to create a compassionate working relationship where my clients feel seen and heard, in all of their identities. I believe that you are the expert on yourself, and together we can collaboratively identify and make progress on your goals. For some, that could mean brief therapy, while others might be better suited for longer term depth work. I especially enjoy helping clients who are interested in learning more about themselves, their identities, and their relationships.

My Background and Approach

Much of my career has been spent supporting university students and early-mid career professionals. Having worked in several college counseling centers, I’m versed in navigating universities and complex systems. I’m passionate about helping clients find their voice to better advocate for themselves, within systems that were not designed for them. My therapy approach is active, collaborative, and transparent. I work from feminist, interpersonal process, and trauma informed approaches to therapy, and integrate other modalities as indicated. The sociocultural contexts in which we grow up in, our early relationships, and experiences of oppression and privilege all impact our mental health and sense of well-being. Therapy often focuses on helping you better understand the source of your distress and expand upon your strengths, so that we can create lasting change. My specialties include family/relationship issues, identity, trauma recovery, depression, and student mental health.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Advocacy, social justice, and active allyship are central to my identity as a human. I’m passionate about empowering my clients recognize how systems of privilege and oppression impact one’s mental health, sense of self, and relationships. I attend to power dynamics in therapy, and have facilitated seminars on power/privilege, oppression, and intersectional feminism in university settings. I have openings for in person and online therapy.
