About My Clients

Being human is hard, and at times confusing and isolating. Whatever you’re struggling with, you don’t have to do it alone. I believe therapy is a collaborative process. You and I will work together to tackle the roadblocks and obstacles you have been encountering. Anxiety, shame, body image, and trauma are just a few challenges that can hold us back—and are also things we can heal from together.

My Background and Approach

I believe in the power of narrative as a way to bring healing and fresh perspective to our lives. Each person has their own narrative, and their own story to tell. Together, we will explore your story to heal from the past, identify barriers that may be stopping you from achieving your goals, and discover your authentic self. My approach to therapy is also very influenced by systems theory, meaning I use a whole-person perspective. Together we will focus on both internal (thoughts, feelings, etc.) and external factors that impact you, past and present. Your intersecting identities are important, valuable pieces of you, which we will honor throughout our work together.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I became very passionate about mental health at a young age. My personal experiences have shown me time and again that wellness is often driven by mental health, rather than physical well-being. Physical health can mean very little in the absence of mental health; similarly, physical struggles can be made worse by internal suffering. Our minds and bodies are deeply connected. When I think of wellness, I think of finding balance in this connection. I also have a special interest in working with clients wanting to explore sexuality and sexual issues. I believe there is a unique type of healing and authenticity that comes from accepting our most vulnerable (and powerful) selves. This healing creates a ripple effect we can see in all the different areas of our lives. As your therapist, it is my goal to support you in accessing your authentic voice, and empower you in using it.
