About My Clients
I have been working with individuals and communities for over 10 years. I believe everyone deserves space to explore their identity, pain, and life's challenges and to feel seen heard and understood in the process. I value empathy, connection and collaboration in my practice and strive to center you as the expert of your experience. My client's have described me as gentle and warm. I consider it a great honor to join people in their pain and healing journey.
My Background and Approach
I can provide evidence-based treatment for depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. I tend integrate Psychodynamic, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Forward-Facing Trauma, Family Systems, and Multicultural Therapy. I believe the therapeutic relationship is critical, especially when working cross culturally. Maybe you are feeling alone in your pain or given up on healing. I will work to help you feel seen and heard and help you build your capacity to deal with life’s challenges. I may be the right fit for you if you’re looking for a provider who is trauma informed, open and affirming.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe colonial programming, white supremacy and systemic oppression breaks down our humanity and I seek to help individuals find liberatory healing in a safe space. To me, anti-oppressive counseling in action looks like listening deeply to your story, respecting and celebrating your cultural values, class, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, and religion. I hold a firm commitment to social justice and ongoing formal dedication to my work as a white ally providing psychological services. I understand that white providers need to be open, willing and competent to serve the Twin Cities where there is a limited number of clinicians of color.
