About My Clients
My practice is ideally suited for individuals who seek a therapist with a deep understanding of cultural nuances and a compassionate approach to therapy. I specialize in working with individuals who come from immigrant families that face unique challenges and are struggling with anxiety and depression, having difficulty navigating relationships, or seeking relief and healing from past trauma.
My Background and Approach
With a counseling degree from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a background in teaching and psychology, I offer a multifaceted perspective to my practice. My extensive experience supporting individuals with immigrant backgrounds provides valuable insights into cultural identity and family dynamics. As an Asian American woman, a working mother, and trauma survivor, my personal experiences deeply inform my approach. I prioritize empathy and understanding, recognizing the significance of cultural nuances. In therapy, I utilize insight-oriented and evidence-based modalities like CBT, Psychodynamic therapy, and EMDR to address anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and identity exploration. My goal is to create a safe environment where clients feel empowered to explore their experiences and cultivate resilience.
