About My Clients
Healing happens in connection with others, and together we will build rapport and trust between us before jumping into the hard stuff. I work with diverse people of all ages, adults and teens, and seek to reduce stigma around reaching out for help. My clients experience a safe, non-judgmental space to explore issues in their lives along with a relational, supportive therapist with a client-centered approach. What is shareable is bearable.
My Background and Approach
I am a biracial, multicultural Oakland native, and I know what it feels like to be "in between." I meet my clients where they are at, and can offer you a safe, non-judgmental space to explore the barriers and unique issues in your life. I will work with you to find an approach that works for your needs. I have experience working with clients who struggle with a wide range of mental illness and trauma, anxiety and depression. I am someone who will listen to you, and can help you cope with challenge. I encourage self-reflection, finding patterns, and making connections. I offer you a safe, non-judgmental space to explore the unique issues in your life, and can help you to make changes when you decide you are ready.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist of mixed heritage providing mental health services in the East Bay community, I aim to reduce stigma and increase access to counseling services for those who need and want it. I hope to increase visibility of mixed heritage and POC therapists in the field to clients of all backgrounds. I am a proponent of social justice and Black Lives Matter. Furthermore, I believe that clients are the authors of their story, and that I can be an ally in overcoming obstacles.
