About My Clients
My practice is supporting others in becoming more resilient and taking steps towards leading a life with more meaning and intentionality. Our unique intersections of life have brought us experiences and challenges that made a lasting impact on how we navigate our systems and relationships. Becoming more aware of the patterns that enabled us to survive in the past can aid in providing more insight and clarity into ourselves to inform our future.
My Background and Approach
I have a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Georgia, and M.A. in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy from California Institute of Integral Studies. My approach to therapy is relational and integrative. I am gentle yet firm about boundaries. When appropriate and with permission, I incorporate multi-modal somatic and expressive arts tools such as visual art, movement, and play to deepen the therapeutic process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I was born and raised in Bangladesh and immigrated to the US as a teenager. My therapeutic work is influenced by my intersectional identities and experiences as an immigrant, Bangladeshi, South Asian, Muslim, womyn, and artist. I am passionate about social justice, understanding power/privilege/oppression, and providing affirmative care to folks who are historically and currently oppressed by the larger systems. I am also passionate about making art accessible and liberating our creativity.
