About My Clients
Life can be stressful and scary at times. We all come from different walks of life, and sometimes we can't take on the world alone. I work with children, teens, adults, families and couples. I specialize in a variety of issues ranging from: anxiety, stress, grief, depression, relationships, trauma, criminal justice related issues, life transitions, substance use, family conflict and the list goes on. We will explore your past, present and see where you hope to be in the future.
My Background and Approach
First off, I want to commend anyone who is taking the initiative to search and scour the Internet for extra support. I know how daunting the process can be, but you are here and this is the first step. As your therapist, I understand that people experience different struggles in life. Teach me about your life so that I may walk along with you on your journey towards creating a safe and healthy space. I use a variety of techniques that I have gained through not only my education, but also my lived experiences. I decided at an early age that I wanted to be a helper and that is exactly what the goal will be when it comes to therapy with you. I will not give up on you and will empty my toolbox to give you extra options in sorting out the problems you may be facing. What is making you anxious? My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you don’t need to just get used to that bad or uncomfortable feeling you have felt for a while. It is important for us to sometimes give a little bit of our struggles or weight on our shoulders to someone else to hold for a bit. I come from a low SES background and know what it is to struggle. I have seen what it is like to feel so anxious and sad that you feel as though you will never feel normal. This is just not true though. We are all human and we all experience different struggles. I am fortunate enough to have become educated on different life struggles, so that I may help a variety of people. I don't discriminate against anyone and welcome learning about everyone's stories. I want to show you that life does not have to be the way your mind makes it seem. Whether you are struggling with relationships or family or even with yourself, there is always a way to improve the situation. I look forward to talking with you and getting to know you.
