About My Clients
Do you have things you've been afraid to tell anyone, including your therapist? Do you have "dark thoughts," and maybe you just want it all to stop? Do you feel sad, hopeless, overwhelmed, and that maybe you don't deserve anything better? Do you worry about "breaking" your therapist, because your stuff is just too awful, overwhelming, and impossible to "fix"? I'm not afraid of that dark pit you're in, and we can sit down there together until you're ready for whatever comes next.
My Background and Approach
I've worked as a 911 dispatcher, a crisis/suicide hotline counselor, and a counselor in an inpatient psychiatric facility for many years. I know trauma and darkness in ways that other therapists may not. You've endured pain, betrayals, people being terrible humans, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or maybe you made some bad choices and got smacked in the face with consequences. Maybe it's some or all of the above. Maybe you feel like you deserve to be in the dark pit of rage, grief, depression, and hopelessness where you now find yourself. Whatever got you here, I see you, I hear you, and I know the way out of here. I specialize in helping people with trauma and dissociative disorders heal from their pain, learn to trust people again, and find that spark to find success in relationships, school, career, and life in general. I use a person-centered and trauma-focused approach to help clients find their own path to peace and healing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you deserve a space where you can share all of your thoughts and feelings, without fear of judgment or of "breaking" your therapist. We all need help sometimes. You may not feel hopeful that you can ever feel better, and that's ok. I can hold that hope for you until you're ready to grab onto it. I'd be honored to work with you. Contact me today.
