About My Clients
While I have experience with providing individual therapy to a range of adult clients, I am particularly passionate about serving queer and trans clients, women, and those who have experienced trauma and stigma. I utilize active listening, empathy, and empowerment to build a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients in the hope we can work together to relieve distress and achieve their goals.
My Background and Approach
I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Adler University in Chicago, Illinois, and completed my predoctoral internship at Adler Community Health Services where I provided individual therapy, group therapy, and assessment services to women being released from the Illinois Department of Corrections as well as young adults volunteering in Chicago Public Schools. Prior to this, I worked in a private clinic which specialized in providing therapy services to LGBTQ adults. I have experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, interpersonal and relational issues, identity development, and gender issues. - Psy.D. from Adler University, Program Accredited by the American Psychological Association - Predoctoral Internship at Adler Community Health Services, Program Accredited by the American Psychological Association
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Humans are inherently social creatures, and because of this, I believe that our early attachments and our relationships greatly impact the way we view ourselves, others, and the world throughout our lifespans. When our interpersonal needs are not met, we can experience a number of issues which leave us feeling distressed. Because the relationships in our lives are so crucial to our wellbeing, my approach is using the dynamics present in the relationship between myself and my clients as a way of exploring the integration of attachment, interpersonal relationships, and self-organization as the motivation for change, with the goal of helping clients getting their needs met and alleviating distress.
