About My Clients
I specialize in helping teens and young adults overcome anxiety, depression, and issues with self-confidence and relationships. Together we can work to overcome barriers, discover your core values, and get you on a path to living a life you truly love.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy takes the whole body into account, not just the mind. I believe our body can tell us a lot about what we're experiencing, so we can gain great insight by simply tuning in. As a visual artist I also love to incorporate creative exercises in therapy and believe that we can learn a lot about ourselves and help our bodies regulate through creative work. I also have experience using CBT & DBT skills to help folks overcome specific symptoms. I believe that therapy is never one-size-fits-all, so will work with you to discover a treatment plan that best suits your needs. Before becoming a therapist, I worked as a designer in the tech industry as well as an artist, during which time I provided career consultation and mentorship to a wide range of folks. After gaining my Masters in Counseling I gained supervised training in public schools with middle and high school students and now love working with a range of clients from elementary school through young adulthood.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that in order to best support individuals, we need to foster healthy communities. I do what I can to support and give back to my own creative community in Oakland, CA, whether volunteering at events, donating to organizations, or simply showing up as an active member and supporter. I'm also an active environmentalist and consistently strive to discover new ways I can show up to support and protect the places and creatures around me, whether through local or national politics or through grass roots efforts. I am an ally to the LGBTQ community and a strong believer in the right to choose.
