About My Clients
My professional life is influenced by my own understanding of what it’s like to be the client seeking help. Through my teen and young adult years I had my own struggles with physical and mental health, and my relationship with food and body was a part of that. Because of this I have a deep appreciation for each individual’s unique story and I love working with teens and young adults. I have specialties in eating disorders, trauma, and anxiety disorders.
My Background and Approach
I worked in several outpatient settings before I started my private practice in 2019. My hope has always been to provide accepting spaces for all individuals and bodies to explore and honor their relationships with food, body, and self. In my hope to provide spaces for all individuals, I acknowledge that as a therapist and a nutritionist I am a part of a system that is quite inaccessible to many people for many reasons, and my own prices for 1-1 counseling are not cheap. My support group and online learning center are some of my attempts to be more accessible and affordable. I genuinely enjoy being in the room getting to know each unique story, and I see my work with clients as a team effort. The modalities I draw on most commonly are: EMDR & Lifespan integration (for trauma treatment), Attachment theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Systems, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Other parts of my life that have influenced me include my time as a high school and college athlete, being an auntie, a mom and a wife, and my experiences with loss, divorce, and heartbreak. I can be found lingering too long outside neighborhood coffee shops, re-learning Spanish on Duolingo, chasing after my goofy daughter, and petting every dog I see.
