About My Clients
I am especially passionate about working with young adults, the LGBTQIA+ community, adults with ADHD and/or ASD, and women of all ages regarding abuse and trauma-related healing. I believe a large part of our healing comes while improving our relationships with ourselves. This can involve work on boundaries, self-care practices, body image, executive functioning, sexuality, and spirituality.
My Background and Approach
I use a relational approach to therapy that provides a safe space for you to learn how to reconnect with yourself and others in your life, especially after trauma or complex trauma has caused disconnection. I will typically integrate trauma-informed aspects of Internal Family Systems, body-centered techniques, and attachment theory to help you assess and heal from what has caused disconnection in your life. I am also able to facilitate ADHD and ASD screening and assessments for adults.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Because our experiences in various communities also impact our connection to ourselves, I strive to be a culturally-sensitive, antiracist, and LGBTQIA+ inclusive therapist. As someone who is also healing from complex trauma, I understand the importance of healing in safe relationships, and I feel honored to facilitate some of that work with my clients. In my free time, I am reconnecting with my love for reading fiction after about 9 years in higher education, maintaining my island on Animal Crossing, or enjoying quality time with my partner, our cat, and friends and family.
