About My Clients
What is it you need the most, in order to feel more satisfied with your life, to grow as a person, to grow closer to others, or to feel less anxious or depressed? We cannot always see ourselves clearly from the inside looking out. It can be very helpful to work with a professional therapist with specialized skill and training to discover, work through, and resolve complex experiences we carry with us that can negatively impact our life in ways that are difficult to comprehend on our own.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed professional psychotherapist with specialized training in psychodynamic therapy and mindfulness, which are evidence-based therapy modalities proven to be effective in reducing anxiety and depression. In combination, these modalities have the added benefit of increasing self-awareness, which promotes self-acceptance and helps us find more meaning and purpose in our lives and in our relationships. I also have advanced graduate training and work experience in cognitive neuroscience research, and find that incorporating an understanding of our brain function, nervous system, and embodied self provides a useful frame for our work together. I help you work through what is getting in the way, where you feel stuck, or what may seem confusing or unclear, so that you feel more at ease and more at home in your body, your relationships, your sense of self, and more empowered to navigate your life path.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am neurodiversity affirming, and a proud supporter and ally of the LGBTQ community and communities of color. Through both lived experience and advanced training in multicultural counseling and the impact of historical/intergenerational trauma, I feel passionately that when we explore areas of your life where you're feeling blocked or stuck, we consider what has impacted you culturally and systemically.
