Depression sucks! However, did you know it is your body's way of keeping you safe. I know, I know. That does not make a lot of sense because when you are depressed you often feel the least safe. From a biological standpoint, when your nervous system cannot keep you safe, it shuts you down. Depression is simply your nervous system shutting you down and keeping you from feeling overwhelmed. I would love to help you identify ways to decrease your stress and prevent future depressive episodes.

I have both professional and personal experience with anxiety. I used to be afraid of it and fear when I would experience it again; however, over the years I came to realize it was a signal that something was out of balance in my life. I now use it to guide me into taking better care of myself and in helping me identify the stressors in my life. Let me help you learn to cope with the symptoms of anxiety while learning to use it as a positive, motivating force in your life.

Adolescence is a time where children are separating from their parents and creating their own identity. They experience more of the world via friends, clubs, and jobs. However, it is also a time where many feel lost and alone. I have worked with teens for over 30 years and have repeatedly seen how the stress of school, social media, and being exposed to more things can be overwhelming to them. Let's help them develop a strong understanding of who they are and how to cope with life's stress.

Coaching involves helping you identify goals you are wanting to achieve, the blocks preventing you from achieving them, and creating a action plan for your to succeed. I will provide the insight and support you need to overcome those obstacles and achieve your desired goals.

EMDR is a technique that helps a person process an overwhelming event or emotion in a holistic manner. In an overwhelming situation, the mind, body and emotions all are effected and all hold different aspects of the event. EMDR allows the mind, body and emotions to be connected and to process the event quickly and efficiently. It is very useful in the treatment of anxiety and trauma, as well as grief, stress and overwhelm.

Did you know that most of our behaviors are created in our childhood? We literally respond to situations as an adult like we learned to as a child. Many of these reactions are subconscious and we are not aware of them. By using Internal Family Systems, I help a person identify at what age a problematic behavior or response was learned and help them heal that wounded part. This in turn frees them to choose a way they want to handle a situation.
