About My Clients
I was working as a child and family intern therapist in a community based agency where I saw children 12 years and under with variety of mental health diagnoses including autism, anxiety, depression, conduct disorder & oppositional defiance as well as children coping with grief & loss, and trauma, in the past 5 years. The experiences I had working with these children and their loved ones that I saw the powerful impact that family and environment has on the individual.
My Background and Approach
I grew up in GuangDong, China and moved to the US in 2006 to attend college. I am deeply passionate about what I do with children and their families. I have been working with children and their families over 10-years in different settings, school, community and non-profit agencies. am experienced and credible in the mental health field serving individuals and families. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy , Play Therapy , Trauma Focus-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Parent- Child Interaction Therapy ( PCIT), Parent Management Training- Oregon model (PMTO), Attachment-based therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy ( EFT) , Internal Family Systems (IFS) and more as my therapy intervention.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I see the therapy room as a safe space, where one can truly be themselves, with no judgement, no criticism, only understanding and support. It is my job to know your story, understand your perspective, and guide you and your families with keeping their best interest always in mind. I approach therapy with my empathy and optimism being my foundational pillars.
