As a culturally sensitive psychotherapist, I will emphasize the importance of understanding your background, and belief system. I incorporate cultural sensitivity into my work to accommodate and respect differences in opinions, values, and attitudes of various cultures and different types of experiences.
Human beings have an innate capacity to triumph over trauma. I believe that the healing process can be a catalyst for profound emotional and spiritual awakening.
Anxiety is signaling to us that a change in our way of life is needed. “We should experience what it means, what it has to teach, what its purpose is.” (Jung) " Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart" (Jung).
Depression is not only treatable but can be a doorway into the unconscious. From Jung’s point of view, there is a hidden intention in depression. It “forces us downwards.” This is not, as it might sound, a punishment, but rather a consequence of having become cut off from the human, instinctual part of ourselves. Therapy brings the perspective that the experience of meaning, even in and through depression, is a healing experience.
Individuals have found our therapy to have helped them come to terms with the experience of international migration as trauma. In developing a sense of belonging, they felt more at home, increased their confidence, became more creative, and improved their relationship with Self and others.
