Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Seattle, WA
My anxiety treatment often starts with helping my clients recognize what it is they feel anxious about, and recognizing the cyclical of avoidance that often presents in dealing with this, as well as working on coping with the physical symptoms involved. I make a point to emphasize how treatment does not necessitate needing to expunge anxiety, but being able to experience, understand it is temporary, and know that you will be okay.
Helping clients work through attachment issues goes beyond understanding and working through one's relationship issues. It often encompasses deep seated patterns which have been present since childhood, and confronts clients to evaluate not only how they connect with others, but their feelings involved, their associated emotional needs, and even looking at why they are attracted to, or connect so well with, certain individuals.
I enjoy working with clients +15 who are struggling to deal with their trauma and symptoms of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and boundaries. Trauma is our natural response to abnormal circumstances. I help clients navigate learning their unique physiological, emotional, and cognitive patterns, perhaps have been there for years. I help clients to then recognize why these patterns are there, how to cope, and ultimately integrate them in order to move forward and create fulfilled lives.
