About My Clients

Eating Disorders feel like a trap. Am I right? Maybe you have felt like you’ve got a handle on it but it comes right back for you? Or maybe you have been looping around in the same darn eating patterns for years and have no idea why. What you DO know is you want it to stop. I UNDERSTAND. I’ve been there, and it's hard. I can tell you that there IS a way out. You can begin your eating disorder self help journey. I’ve done it, and helped many others do the same.

My Background and Approach

I deeply understand the nature of eating disorders through my own personal experience and through years of clinical training. I support healing from disordered eating through the use of art therapy, self compassion techniques, mindfulness tools, exploration of self in relation to food and one's body, and through processing past trauma. I have found when these tools are applied they can greatly help reduce the stress and confusion of an eating disorder. I love that my job is to be here for you. I’ll be honest and say I care deeply about the people I get to help. It is a special kind of connection we get to have as therapists, and I feel lucky for it. If you feel inspired feel free to reach out so we can check out if we are a match in working together. I look forward to hearing from you!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that my number one job as a therapist is to hear you. And when I say hear you, I mean YOU, all of you. As your therapist I am listening to hear where you find pain, where you have been hurt, AND what makes your spirit come alive. I believe that my job is to build a trusting, deep relationship so that I can understand you and inherently find the unique version of support that you need. My approach is also to encourage and inspire a gentle acceptance. Darkness and feelings of stuckness ARE OK. Those parts of you make you human, and I think being human is pretty cool. I KNOW that these feelings are hard because I feel them too. But what I also know is that the more we accept the complexity of ourselves, the more love, connection, and vitality we get to feel in this life. So while I am listening to you, I will also be validating you and the full spectrum of your experience while also holding space for the creation of more peace, more wisdom, and more insight.
