About My Clients

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or a nagging feeling that something just isn’t okay? Have the difficult experiences of your past started to come back to the surface? Maybe this is all having an impact on your relationships and your ability to go about your daily life. I help survivors of childhood and interpersonal trauma to look at how their experiences have shaped them, and explore how they can take back their lives from the things that have made them feel alone for so long.

My Background and Approach

One of the deepest impacts of trauma is the feeling of isolation from the people around you. It can be so difficult to trust others after being hurt by people in your life. Trauma therapy is tough work, and it happens best in the context of a safe and supportive relationship between therapist and client. This relationship will be the foundation of our work together as we face the challenge of healing from your most difficult experiences and relationships. Our work will go at your pace, ensuring that you feel safe enough to face the tough stuff, always knowing I am there to support you. Together, we will teach your brain and body that the trauma is in the past and that you are safe now. I will help you develop a relationship with yourself that feels secure, and relationships with others that feel fulfilling and healthy. To get there, I use a variety of different approaches to tailor therapy to your specific needs, and I check in regularly to make sure our therapy feels helpful for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a survivor of trauma myself, I am intimately familiar with the powerful impact therapy can have on a person’s life. I know what it is like to put your trust in a professional during your most raw and painful moments, and I treat this responsibility with tenderness and respect. It is this personal experience that led me to focus my therapeutic work on helping others who have experienced trauma. You deserve to be heard, respected, and embraced for who you are, and your story deserves to be told. I am an LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC ally. Because I am a white, cisgender woman, I actively make an effort to continue my development as an anti-oppressive therapist through listening to folx’s experiences and seeking out continuing education. I welcome the opportunity to work with folx of all identities, and I welcome conversations about how my clients’ identities impact their lives and their work in therapy.
