About My Clients
I have been a practicing psychotherapist for 16 years. If you are looking for a therapist who will tell you what to do, or who you are, or what you need, I'm not your guy. Working with me means talking about thoughts, feelings, relationships, needs, experiences, dreams. Past, present, and future. We jump around, we talk through your history and how it impacts your current life. All of this helps me see you, which helps you see you, too.
My Background and Approach
I obtained a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California, and subsequently completed a certificate in Psychodynamic Therapy at the Newport Psychoanalytic Institute. My career has allowed me to gain experience in diverse settings including a hospital, an outpatient mental health clinic, a residential facility for children in foster care, a public elementary school, a Hollywood shelter for youth experiencing homelessness, and people’s living spaces throughout Los Angeles County. Occasionally, I have worked in unexpected places—the freeway, a coffee shop, an art gallery, a fire escape. My current psychotherapy practice combines strengths-based, trauma-informed, insight-oriented, psychodynamic, and relational approaches.
