Everyone is looking for a safe place to be themselves. As I engage with Christians and people of color I often hear, “there’s no safe place for me get help with a counselor who is like me.” This is a lonely place to be, needing help, but feeling left out. My Background and Approach
I strive to mirror to my clients their worth, value, respect, and dignity. I laugh with my clients when appropriate because life is hard enough and one of the greatest things I can do for my client is be another human who witnesses their pain. I offer progressive counting to help with unresolved trauma, and I also use internal family systems, dialectical behavior, and cognitive behavioral therapies to help my clients understand their internal worlds, thoughts, and emotions. My clients are challenged to move beyond their comfort zones to create the changes and lives they desire.
