About My Clients

My practice has been very diverse but I have found that I tend to work well with quirky and creative type people who struggle with anxiety and/or depression, relationship, identity, or life transition issues. I love to support people in having more confidence in and compassion toward themselves, healing from traumatic wounds, and improving relationships in order to live from their own truth and share their gifts with the world.

My Background and Approach

I am a real person who has lived a deep and passionate life. I bring my values of respect, authenticity, courage, and compassion to my work. I earned my master's degree from a Decolonizing Social Work program, largely headed by Indigenous people. I have nearly 20 years of personal practice and studies in the Buddhism and the wisdom traditions. I have been trained in and have much experience in working with trauma, with 7 years experience working in community mental health with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities. I primarily draw from mindfulness, attachment theory, Hakomi (mindfulness+somatics), IFS (Internal Family Systems), and Jungian theory. I'm less interested in diagnosis and more interested in who you are, how your experiences have impacted you and your relationships, and how you'd like to show up in your life and the world. I love to support people in living more confidently in alignment with their own truth.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that all living beings deserve deep respect. I believe that we are all deeply connected and each of us carry unique gifts which we are here to share with the world. Often, these gifts can become covered over and buried by oppressive systems, conditioning, and relational wounding. As a teenager and beyond I struggled with depression, anxiety, a lack of understanding of myself, and lack of motivation to live in general. I could not find a therapist that I felt connected to or who provided the wisdom, support, and strong guidance that I needed. I made controversial life decisions from my heart with courage which opened amazing doors that I never would have dreamed possible and at the same time honor my commitment to social and Earth justice. Over the last 10 years, I became a social worker and the therapist that I always wished I could've found.
