About My Clients
My clients frequently carry multiple marginalized identities. Whether somewhere under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella, neurodivergent, disabled, living with a chronic illness, or all of the above, I work with my clients to better understand the impacts of the system on their lives and help them to navigate it while growing into their authentic selves.
My Background and Approach
I started in the mental health field as a volunteer Sexual Assault Counselor where I advocated for survivors and helped them navigate towards a path of healing. In graduate school, I made trauma studies my focus so that I would be better equipped to help my clients process and heal from their traumatic experiences. I approach my work from an attachment lens. Our attachment losses and wounds show where our sense of safety has been shaken. Additionally, finding the strengths in existing attachment patterns allows us to build from an existing foundation of skill and competence. Finding these and rebuilding safety helps my clients to move forward in the world with confidence.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we can all benefit from understanding our stress and trauma responses and their impacts on our relationships, well-being, and our ability to achieve our personal goals. I believe that my clients are the experts in their own healing. My role as a therapist is to help you explore your experiences so that we can make sense of them and navigate them together.
