Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor working with adults using a holistic approach. LPCC #6028, C-DBT, CCFP, CCTP-I
Counselor in ,
I have been working with people with addiction issues for many years. I completed all of the coursework for an Associates degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling. I find that many individuals who struggle with addictions do not have the opportunity to process and work through the things that have led them to their use, which often times is a form of self-medication and an unhealthy coping skill.
I have specialized in working with individuals with personality disorders for the past five years. I use Dialectical Behavior Therapy to help build coping skills for better management of emotions and tolerating stressful life situations. I have found that teaching/learning Mindfulness skills are essential for anyone to improve their quality of life.
I have multiple certifications in treating trauma on an individual basis, with individuals who have been involved in sex trafficking and exploitation (both survivors and perpetrators), and those with addiction issues.
I have multiple certifications in treating trauma on an individual basis whether it be childhood trauma, complex trauma and/or trauma related to jobs (i.e., military, first-responder, medical professional, etc.), with individuals who have been involved in sex trafficking and exploitation (both survivors and perpetrators), and those with addiction issues.
I have completed training and hold a certificate in Dialectical Behavior Therapy. DBT is one of the main modalities that I use and I have seen great success from it.
I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist in Sex Trafficking and Exploitation. I use a mind-body approach to help individuals better manage symptoms of trauma.
Motivational Interviewing is more of a framework to me than a treatment. It helps me work with individuals who may not be ready to make change, as well as those who are ready and/or already making effort to start and/or maintain long-term change. Motivational Interviewing helps me meet you where you are at and helps me better understand where you are coming from and how you may (or may not) want to address the problem right now.
I have experience treating working professionals including those in the mental health and medical field, as well as first responders. I am trained in trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout treatments that are effective in helping with everything from vicarious trauma to complex trauma.
