About My Clients

Do you struggle with trusting yourself to make decisions or feeling fully valid in living your life in the way that feels most genuine to you? In relationships are respect, connection, and communication more important than just commitment? Have other people made you feel lesser or that your feelings and emotions are too dramatic? Do you struggle to understand social cues, or become overwhelmed by things that don't seem to overwhelm others? If this resonates with you then we may be a good fit!

My Background and Approach

I am a systemically trained therapist; which means my training and natural area of focus is directed more toward family systems, development, and interpersonal relationships rather than viewing the individual person as my only objective. My approach is client-centered, post-modern, and eclectic. While I explore family-of-origin issues with my clients I also use science-based approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and solution focussed therapy tools when it is needed and helpful for my clients. My communication style is direct and assertive; never bossy or judgemental. I am able to pivot and change approaches when my clients find themselves at a plateau in our work together as long as the therapeutic alliance remains meaningful. The decision to begin therapy can be an intimidating process; which is why my first priority is making you feel comfortable and heard above all else.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Every human being regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or political affiliation deserves to be treated with respect. My first experience with therapy and mental health professionals began when I was 12 years old. When I was taken to see a therapist for the first time I was excited to finally get the help I needed. Unfortunately; instead of being helped I was judged and denied treatment until seeking holy redemption. The therapist believed I was beyond treatment for my depression as long as I remained Queer. After this disheartening experience, I spent years trying to figure out how I could make sure that no one in my care would be subjected to this type of treatment ever again.

I offer online counseling in the following states:
I have experience with the following
  • Christianity
  • Wicca/Paganism
  • Multifaith
