My Background and Approach
In our work together, we will work to discover irrational beliefs and negative thought patterns that may have added to your current concerns, and are holding you back from your ideal state. You will develop new coping skills and strategies to incorporate into your daily life. These small strategies can be used discreetly in almost any setting to allow you to feel confident and able to succeed. Whether there is anxiety that is keeping you from functioning well in social situations, or family functioning concerns that are causing you to feel less than successful, we will work together to find the source of the concern and develop appropriate skills to use to improve your overall happiness. My goal is your success. Therapy is a big commitment. I value that commitment and will focus, with you, on meeting your personalized goals that lead you to a path of happiness and personal success.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I strongly believe that anyone is capable of changing if they are willing to accept input and change behaviors. I believe that many of us experience challenges with mental health due to trauma, or learned negative thinking patters. We aren't born thinking negatively, or telling ourselves "I can't". We develop that over time through interactions and defense mechanisms that we develop. By identifying where these patterns were developed, we can gain a better understanding of ourselves and how we can overcome these challenges. I believe that all individuals are created equal, but I do recognize that we haven't all been treated this way. I welcome any person to work with me in an unbiased, welcoming environment.
