About My Clients
I often work with adults who are struggling with life transitions (i.e. college, adulthood, relationships, etc.) that create anxiety and depression. These struggles can make you feel guilty, ashamed, directionless, and self-critical. It is my passion to help you find meaning and purpose in navigating these fierce waters to be your true self.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is interactive, depth-oriented, and fun. Effective therapy needs to take us through our entire range of emotions. I may be the professional but you are the expert in your life. I bring warmth, compassion, authenticity, and curiosity to the therapeutic process. With me, you will get a strategic counselor who will guide and challenge you towards your potential. Together, we will explore the self and discover your truest aim. I utilize Psychodynamic, EMDR, Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Narrative therapy from my experience working with individuals, adults, teens, and addiction. My clinical experience consists of working at an inpatient addiction center, working with teens in schools, working with special needs kids, and working with young adults in private practice to navigating the various stressors of life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a therapist, I will meet you where you are. I treat therapy with passion, humor, and care. This is the heart of my practice. I also believe that we pick up unconscious stories about societal roles, expectations, and cultural identity. Thus, I am well-versed in pop-culture (movies, tv, sports, music, comics, sports, etc.) in helping you navigate how you came to develop these definitions. They say that "the pen is mightier than the sword" so let us write a story together. It's never too late to rewrite your story to see what deeper purpose you have to offer the world.
