About My Clients
My clients are grieving a significant loss, such as the death of a loved one, pregnancy loss, or loss of job or relationship. My clients may be experiencing painful emotions, physical symptoms of grief, changes in their identity or worldview, or difficulty relating to others. My clients are seeking a safe place to express their thoughts and emotions, validation and guidance from someone who understands grief, and the freedom to explore where they go from here.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in the state of Colorado and I have a Master of Arts in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Colorado at Denver. I have grief counseling experience with individuals and support groups at The Denver Hospice and in my private practice. I have supported clients from all walks of life, including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly, and I am skilled at addressing other issues that clients may be facing in addition to their grief, including trauma, substance use, depression, and anxiety.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that grief will enter all of our lives at some point, but grief has a stigma in our society that prevents us from talking about it and connecting with one another. I believe that as humans, we have the capacity to live happy, fulfilling lives after a major loss but to do so, we have to acknowledge our grief and learn to live with it. I believe that it is my honor and privilege to companion my clients on their sacred grief journey.
