About My Clients
My clients often feel like they’ve never quite fit into the world. Many have experienced being outcast, bullied, or 'othered,' which can manifest as anxiety, depression, OCD, or addiction. I work with neurodivergent, queer, and highly creative individuals who have unique interests and talents. I love learning from my clients and celebrating what makes them unique.
My Background and Approach
I’m an LMSW with 10+ years of experience working with adults in both community mental health and private practice (I’ve seen it all). My approach is nonjudgmental, conversational, gently direct, and sometimes sweary. I blend psychodynamic and behavioral modalities, including DBT, CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Motivational Interviewing. Sessions follow your lead (tangents often reveal what we need to explore!), incorporating humor, levity, and actionable steps toward self-empowerment. I specialize in anxiety, OCD, phobias, addiction, systemic oppression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I approach therapy through a trauma-informed, feminist, and anti-colonial lens. Systemic oppression and intergenerational trauma shape our well-being in profound ways. I help clients recognize the external forces that have impacted their lives and support them in reclaiming their power. Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, running, vegetarian cooking, writing, and spending time with my two rescue dogs (who you might hear barking now and then). I was raised Catholic and attended Catholic schools—though no longer practicing—so I understand the guilt and shame often tied to that belief system. I also have a working knowledge of Pagan and Wiccan traditions and lean in that direction spiritually.
