Hi there, I’m Jodie. I help people go from feeling like their biggest bugs are their greatest features. It’s nice to meet you.
Clinical Trainee in Chicago, IL
Supervised by Mindi Dewey-Rosburg LCPC
I am receiving training to become certified in EMDR, an effective intervention for PTSD. My father was a military veteran and I saw first hand how debilitating PTSD can be. Along with the very real physical and mental symptoms, the shame and guilt people can feel are heavy.
I have completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and love working with couples to uncover what is unique about their relationship and strengthen it.
I have attended the trainings for EMDR and will receive official certification after completing supervision for one year.
I am in the process of completing the Level 2 NARM training and will receive the official certification after completing supervision in 1 year.
I have ADHD myself and have been working with the neurodivergent community in some capacity for over 20 years. I keep current on the most recent research on clinical applications of working with this community and do research myself.
I have been studying attachment as part of my Master's of Education and in my current studies in my Master's of Clinical Counseling. Because of my emphasis on trauma, attachment is a core area of focus. Healing Complex PTSD is often about healing attachment wounds and requires a multi disciplinary approach using such things as EMDR, somatic experiencing, gestalt, etc.
