About My Clients
I've enjoyed working with foster youth and adults with relationships with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I've also had the honor to work with members of the LGBTQ community. If you're ready to start your journey towards recovery, I'd be honored to join your journey with you.
My Background and Approach
During my career in the helping profession, I spent time working in schools, with youth having spectrum disorders, youth in foster care, youth in residential care, and members of the LGBTQ community. Most of my early experience was working with youth in crisis using deescalation strategies. I've also enjoyed spending time in narrative therapy seminars, conferences, and trainings to expand my knowledge in the approach. I'm currently licensed in the state of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) obtaining my education in CSU Bakersfield (CA), then completing my clinical experience at the Gender Health Center in Sacramento, CA where I used narrative therapy to served members of the LGBTQ community.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people are not their problems, but rather have relationships with problems or have experienced some really challenging experiences. I also believe everybody has an incredible capacity that they may not be aware of, to take on and challenge their problems. I believe that through the narrative experience, people can discover this capacity and re-author their story and put the problem in its place.
