About My Clients

Perhaps you've spent much of your life at war with yourself - with your past, your body, and even those around you. Life has so much more to offer than depression, anxiety, self-sabotage, etc., but it can be challenging to make changes without the right support. That's where I come in. As your therapist, my primary task is fostering an environment where you can think, feel, and process without judgment. "THE CURIOUS PARADOX IS THAT WHEN I ACCEPT MYSELF JUST AS I AM, THEN I CAN CHANGE."

My Background and Approach

Having received my M.A. in Clinical Psych, I am passionate about the marriage of science and art that exists in the practice of psychotherapy. I seek to bring evidence-based practices into the therapy room if helpful, but first and foremost, I show up as a fellow human there to stand witness to your pain, your truth, your vulnerability, and your process. I have worked in a variety of settings as a therapist - with university students at a Bible college, with young children conducting play and art therapy, with first-generation individuals and Victims of Crime (VOC) through a non-profit, trauma-focused mental health treatment center, and also at IOP and PHP level of care with folks struggling with eating disorders. My ED work has been the most influential; I tend to practice from a DBT framework and utilize interventions and skills where appropriate. Above all that, however, Attachment Theory underscores all of my work, and I thus strive to create a corrective experience for clients.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As an eating disorder clinician, I am HAES (Health at Every Size) aligned and very much part of anti diet culture. I receive ongoing weekly consultation with a HAES group of fellow psychotherapists, and also receive consultation from a CEDS supervisor. I am an avid soccer fan and watcher of The Office, and a lover of cooking, gardening, and napping. My undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Christian universities, and my practicum experience was at a bible college. If Christian counseling is of interest to you, I do have training in integration. However, all folx are welcome in my office. I am a believer in "building longer tables, not taller fences".
