About My Clients
I can help you to come to terms with your past, to get unstuck, and to move forward with your life. I’m an active, engaging therapist with a flexible & creative approach. I’ll work with you as a collaborator to gain insight into your strengths and values, while also teaching new ways of coping and problem-solving. I help my clients to overcome anxiety, depression, chronic stress, feelings of overwhelm, relationship and/or work challenges, and difficulties making decisions or moving forward.
My Background and Approach
I've been providing psychological services to children, adolescents, and adults for over a decade. I've worked in a wide variety of settings, from inpatient psychiatric hospitals and residential treatment centers to outpatient community mental health centers and a trendy group practice. I have extensive experience with individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, psychological assessment, research, supervision, and management. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology as well as a master's in Counseling Psychology from Adler University in Chicago. I also majored in Psychology during my undergraduate studies at Syracuse University in New York. Through all of these experiences, I've learned that the clinical work I find most fulfilling is helping women to navigate the challenges of modern life. As a working mom living in Los Angeles, I know how busy and chaotic life can be.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all have an inherent drive for personal growth. Mental health "symptoms" are our how our mind, body, and soul communicate to us that some kind of change is needed to live our best lives. I specialize in women's issues, including relationship, work, and academic issues; pregnancy, postpartum, and pregnancy loss; parenting and co-parenting; identity development; and life and role transitions. Therapy can be an incredible journey of transformation, and I’d love to be your guide!
