About My Clients
My ideal client is someone looking for a safe space to explore their feelings and make changes that best fit their own needs. I want my clients to feel they have a nonjudgemental space where they truly be who they are. I have experience working with folks in the LGBTQ+ community, individuals living with HIV and individuals living with mental illness.
My Background and Approach
I have experience working in the Philadelphia shelter system, medical case management for individuals living with HIV, drug and alcohol counseling, as well as hospital social work. I come to therapy from a harm reduction, client centered approach. I believe that each client is the expert in themselves and that as a therapist, I'm here to assist in the process of change. I am level 1 Gottman Certified and have experience working with couples exploring communication issues, conflict management and learning to understand one another better.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that all people are deserving of food, shelter, happiness, and fulfillment. I believe that Black Lives Matter. I am an advocate for affordable housing/tenant rights, LGBTQ+ rights, racial justice and universal access to health care. I believe that in order to provide a safe space for my clients and those around me, that I have to constantly work to learn more and challenge my own biases.
