About My Clients
Do you ever wish that you could just shut your mind off for a day? Do you feel physically sick or tense because you cannot stop worrying? Are you feeling out of control or suffering from panic? You don't have to suffer from worry, anxiety, or OCD any longer. There are scientifically proven strategies to combat these issues so that you can take back your life. I have devoted my career to understanding and working with these concerns and I look forward to helping you regain control of your life.
My Background and Approach
Learning to overcome challenges with anxiety and related disorders is a skill set that anyone can learn. However, it isn't a skill-set that we are taught when we are young and as adults we take on maladaptive behaviors that feel good in the short-term but make our situations worse in the long run. I employ cutting edge strategies to teach you this invaluable skill set so that you can get back to living a life you love. I am a member of the International OCD Foundation and have helped develop resources for young clinicians learning to treat OCD and related disorders. I have also been invited to lecture at local universities to help graduate students understand theory and practice of evidence-based therapies for anxiety. My advanced training in mindfulness-based practices and Japanese psychotherapies allow me to address client concerns from a multitude of angles.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that those who suffer the most also have the greatest room for growth. If you feel you are being dragged through the mud kicking and screaming, once you recover you are stronger for having gone through all that. I've been there myself and I understand how hard it can be to suffer from excessive anxiety. I, too, suffered from debilitating worry and stress from an early age. Eventually I learned how to respond differently to my experience, so that I could take back control of my life. Today, I live with much more ease and my aim is to help others reclaim their lives and live more freely.
