About My Clients

I am heavily involved in the McHenry County Suicide Prevention Task Force and take a special interest in working with those struggling with self-injurious behaviors, suicidal ideation, and/or suicide bereavement. Additional areas of focus include anxiety, crisis intervention, depression, domestic violence, gender identity and sexuality, grief and loss, interpersonal communication, relationship struggles, sexual assault, transitions, and trauma. I have recently added an LGTBQIA+ teen group!

My Background and Approach

My passion is to assist my clients in identifying and building upon their own strengths throughout the treatment process. Together we can create a safe, welcoming, confidential, and supportive environment. In doing so, we are better able to prepare for and overcome times of crisis. My wide array of experience comes from a variety of inpatient, outpatient, non-profit, childcare, and educational settings. I am able to assist my clients and their loved ones, when applicable, through a variety of therapeutic approaches; including, but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, Solution-Focused, Trauma-Informed, and Talk Therapies. I tailor each session to meet the client’s specific needs and/or goals while planning for future success. Contact me for more information!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I do not believe there is a limit to our growth and potential. I believe we are all a work in progress. Through my work, I strive to identify current strengths and build upon those as we work through the treatment process. We easily pick up both healthy and unhealthy thoughts and behaviors throughout every stage of life; it is my belief that they can be just as easy to UNlearn with the proper guidance! Throughout my own journey, I have learned to process traumas, grief and loss, and manage my own symptoms and behaviors. I have made it my life's work to assist those with similar struggles in challenging and overcoming the maladaptive thoughts through individualized safety and treatment plans tailored to meet the needs of everyone who walks through my door.
