I participated in my own therapy when I was a teenager. I struggled with my sexuality and dealt with depression and anxiety because of it. I felt alone and afraid and like no one understood what I was going through. Luckily, one of my school counselors noticed something was wrong with me and they reached out, provided a helping hand, and put me in group therapy.
Group therapy is where I learned I was not alone, and others were struggling with their sexuality and gender, as well, and that everything was going to be okay! This was the first step in self-acceptance and self-love! I have continued to participate in my own therapy, so I can continue to accept and love myself as the person I am meant to be! It hasn't been an easy journey, but I know that I am worth it!
