About My Clients
I work with children, adolescents/teens and adults who may need a little extra support navigating social relationships, building self-esteem, navigating stress or mood changes, or who may be having trouble balancing the demands of school, work, and/or relationships. I also have extensive experience working with individuals and their families that identify as LGBTQIA+ and Neurodivergent.
My Approach to Helping
Hi I’m Julie and I’m here if you want to talk. I'm a Licensed Psychotherapist that offers approachable mental health services. I want my clients to feel comfortable in our therapy sessions and I make it a priority to build relationships at the outset of treatment. I offer a casual approach for those that might be a bit intimidated by the process of starting therapy or those who may have been put off by intimidating or unapproachable therapists in the past. Whether you're a parent looking for support for your child/teen going through a difficult time or you're a young professional trying to balance work, friendships, romantic relationships, I am here for you. I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills to help clients handle life's challenges. Please contact me for a consultation or to answer any questions you may have. I'm here if you want to talk. www.imhereifyouwanttotalk.com
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm an anti-racist, LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity ally. When I'm not working with clients I also am an adjunct professor at Pacific Oaks College in their Marriage and Family Therapy Program. I've had the privilege to provide workshops for The LGBTQ Center of Long Beach and Pacific Clinics on the intersection of the LGBTQIA and Neurodivergent communities. And, I've been interviewed by Very Well Family on the topic of supporting child who have anxiety about going to school.
